Jessie Cave, best known for playing Lavender Brown in the *Harry Potter* film series, has found unexpected financial stability through an OnlyFans account — one where she has never appeared nude and keeps her clothes on throughout every video.
Cave, 39, announced she joined the platform in March 2025, driven by financial pressure as a mother of four. The content she produces is straightforward: she brushes and displays her long hair. It was only after launching the account that she learned her videos were tapping into an established fetish known as trichophilia — a term her subscribers introduced her to. “At its heart, it’s about feeling like you’re talking to somebody and having a little bit of a connection,” she told The Observer.
She described her filming sessions as brief and improvised, squeezing them into gaps in her day. “I basically sneak away whenever I can, or when they’re at school, and I do as much content as I can within 22 minutes,” she said.
Cave had appeared in three of the eight *Harry Potter* films and spent nearly two decades working in the arts. Writing on Substack, she admitted feeling shame about signing up, noting she had “nothing to show for 18 years of work in the arts industry.” The OnlyFans account has since generated more income than her entire acting career.
That success has come with consequences. She was turned away from a *Harry Potter* fan convention — a source of income she had previously depended on — because organizers cited her OnlyFans presence, describing it as incompatible with a “family show.” Cave found the reasoning difficult to accept, pointing out that many actors who attend conventions have performed nude or filmed sex scenes on screen.
Chris Belcher, an associate professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Southern California, argued the situation reflects broader societal failures, saying more important questions should be asked about why a mother of four struggles to afford feeding her family.
