A Georgia high school teacher is facing serious criminal charges after investigators uncovered allegations that students discovered her subscription-based adult content account and used it as leverage to obtain better grades.
Maris Nichols, 25, a former teacher at Alexander High School in Douglasville, was arrested in May and charged with two counts of sexual assault by a person with supervisory or disciplinary authority. Court records have since revealed additional details about the circumstances surrounding the case.
Search warrants obtained by several Atlanta media outlets indicate that investigators learned students had found Nichols’ OnlyFans account and allegedly attempted to use that knowledge to pressure her into improving their grades. Those allegations were included in requests for records from the platform as part of the broader investigation. Authorities have not publicly confirmed whether the blackmail claims have been substantiated.
Prosecutors allege Nichols had sexual contact with multiple male students on more than one occasion, with incidents said to have taken place both on school grounds and at an off-campus location. Earlier court filings also alleged she sent sexually explicit messages to students and exposed at least one student to inappropriate material.
The Douglas County School System stated it launched an investigation immediately upon learning of the allegations. The case remains active, and it was not immediately clear whether Nichols has entered a plea in connection with the charges.
